Post by b***@gmail.comGreetings,
Is it possible to flush the power steering fluid on my 1994 camry
LE? 1MZ-FE engine? Would it be in any of the manuals?
Thanks,
S
I don't have a Camry but here's what I do with mine.
1) Remove the return line hose. Plug another hose into it which
drains into a gallon container. Empty plastic milk bottles work
great.
2) Lift the car up enough so the front wheels are in the air.
3) Crank the engine.
4) Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left then all the way to
the right.
5) When all the fluid is drained, turn the car off. Make sure not to
prolong this as the steering system isn't lubricated.
6) Re-attach the return line to the reservoir.
7) Refill the fluid in the reservoir.
8) Crank the engine again and refill the fluid.
9) Turn the steering wheel left and right and keep refilling until the
system is finally full. Make sure to do this while the front wheels
are still in the air.
10) Make sure to check for fluid levels and leaks for the next 2 days.
Good luck.
